02/02/2006: "Rosebud 2005"
Every year Pasadena has three major parades – the Rose Parade, the Doo-Dah Parade (the anti-Rose Parade) and a small parade for the kids called the Rose Bud Parade. Families decorate their wagons, bikes, tricycles, anything with wheels and walk down South Lake Street about two blocks and then back again. Devin’s pre-school, The Cottage, got a group of us together to march as one. It may not sound like much but it is pretty fun to walk down the middle of the street without worrying that we’d get hit by a bus.
The mini princess and her escort.
“Did she just faint?” Tatik, Brianna (lying down) Devin, and Brian.
“It sure is bright for this time of the morning.” Devin, Brianna’s head, Liana and Tatik.
“What are you doing down here?”
“That’s one big butterfly!”
“When is this thing gonna start?”
The littlest bachelorette.”
“Wow, look at that ring!” Devin and Brianna with the Rose parade Queen and one of her Princesses.”
“Now, Devin, I want you to wave at the people…”
“It’s my wagon and I’ll cry if I want to…”
Oh boy. Here we go!”
Waiting for our turn to go…”
“I thought parades were suppose to move!”
“Pretend this is the end.”
